Hey yall! Lauren Meeker here with a product update about our latest changes to the Listings part of the Clearly Acquired platform.

I want to start by talking about something funny I’ve seen trending lately. Have you seen the TikTok trend hollering about hot dogs for sale? 

‍

It makes me want to do that for our new upgrades to the Listings platform we launched last week.

‍

Businesses for sale! Get your businesses for sale!

Even though it’s gearing up to be baseball season, I’m not heading to the stadiums to shout to fans. Instead, I’m hanging out with the team in the office shouting through the internet about our freaking sweet updates to the Business Listings page on Clearly Acquired. 

‍

But if you do participate in the hot dog hollering trend, send me your videos. I’ll stream those all day.

The Clearly Acquired Business For Sale Marketplace is lasered in on presenting quality listings and quality people, and the refresh to our business for sale marketplace highlights that focus. So much so that I’m thinking about it as I scroll through hot dog hollering challenges.

I digress. Let’s get back to business.

What’s New?

‍

Verified Business Listing Data

‍

A big problem we’ve noticed on some listings on the web is that the data is incomplete or outdated. Not helpful.

‍

Maybe you’ve been a searcher in this position before. You’re pumped up about a listing you’re reading about, so you start to dig in. You go through big efforts (and maybe even travel expenses) to meet up with the seller only to find out they don’t have any of their financials ready to review. 

‍

What?? 

‍

They’re selling their business, but they don’t have the information ready to share with a potential buyer. That’s a big problem.

The Clearly Verified badge on a listing indicates that the business owner and broker have provided the baseline information to the Clearly Team that they’re ready to sell the business. We’re looking for proof of documents such as tax statements, profit & loss statements, and other key files that can be shared to facilitate a productive search.

So when you see this badge on a listing, you can trust that the data has been reviewed by the Clearly Team to make sure buyers have a great experience on our platform. 

‍

(Legal wants me to put in a reminder that Clearly Acquired is not responsible for the information presented IN these documents. It’s up to the buyer to conduct their own due diligence. We help speed up the process by helping sellers and brokers get their info together before they list it on our platform with the Verified badge).

More Listings In One Place

We’re very aware that there are plenty of places on the web where people can view businesses for sale… and we want to bring it all together so that eventually Clearly is the one-stop-shop. 

‍

While we just talked about the listing verification so that we can ensure higher quality data, we also want to give potential buyers all the possibilities of listings that might meet their search criteria. 

‍

Clearly Acquired aggregates listings from across the web, as well as offers direct listings through our verification process. 

‍

Listings that are not verified and are aggregated won’t have the Clearly stamp of approval. However, buyers can start to gauge whether to trust the info based on our “Last Updated” indicator that can tell people when the info was last updated.

Search & Filters

‍

There are tens of thousands of businesses for sale on Clearly Acquired. It would be insane to think that people are going to look through them one at a time to find a possible match.

‍

Therefore, we make it a priority for searchers to quickly narrow down the results in very specific ways. Then, you can save these searches for a fast jumping-off point on the dashboard to view new listings that meet your ideal criteria.

‍

To start, we have a really robust search functionality. Type in whatever keywords you want at the top of the listings page. In a matter of seconds, the page filters through the tens of thousands of active listings to show you the ones that match exactly what you want.

‍

The top filters we have right now are: 

• Location
• Industry
• Asking Price Range: Minimum to Maximum

What else do you want to filter by? Share your opinions with us any time.

‍

Lastly, once you’ve filtered your results you can then sort the list. 

‍

Maybe you want to see them in ABC order, or more likely, you’ll want to view them by the most affordable or expensive asking prices. You can even tack on the option to sort by most recently updated.

‍

We recommend adding a price filter and then applying the updated date so you can see those that are first within your financial range and then those that are updated most recently.

‍

All The Listings Info

‍

All right. We’ve filtered down and sorted the results. We know to look for the Clearly Verified badge or to check the “last updated” date. 

‍

Now, it’s time to get into the details about the different businesses for sale.

‍

Get a quick glance at the top, most important data from the Listings feed. This shows all the options of business that meet your search criteria. 

‍

When you see one you like, click “View Listing” to get more information. This opens up to show you all of the fast facts - things such as the established date or if there is real estate and inventory included. 

‍

Read further to get the gist of the business in the summary. If you like what you read, you can reach out to the Clearly advisor to get in touch with the listing broker. Lastly, if you are the listing broker, you can claim the listing and start the verification process to earn that badge.

You might also want to share it with someone on your team or in your network. We make it quick for you to grab the link to the listing and send it out across social channels or via direct link. 

‍

Not ready to share it yet but don’t want to lose it? Click that heart to add it to your favorites. You can view all of your favorite listings from the Dashboard too.

Now that we’ve taken the tour through the Listings updates, do you understand why I want to holler about it just like all the kids do on TikTok for hot dogs?

My sister is actually pretty good at the hot dog holler. Maybe she’s interested in buying a concessions business at the stadium. I’ll send her a listing. ;)
